High Temperature PPS Pall Ring Polyphenylene Sulfide Random Tower Packing 25mm 38mm 50mm 76mm for Acetic Acid Recovery & High Temp Scrubbing

Short Description:

PPS Pall Ring is a high-performance random packing injection-molded from polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), a high-temperature engineering plastic. It delivers continuous operation up to 220°C (short-term 260°C), chemical resistance approaching PTFE, and excellent mechanical rigidity, making it the ideal choice for high-temperature distillation, acetic acid recovery, and harsh chemical scrubbing where PP, RPP, and even PVDF reach their limits.

    Product Introduction

    PPS Pall Ring Product Description

The PPS Pall Ring is a premium high-temperature random packing manufactured from polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), a crystalline engineering thermoplastic known for its exceptional thermal stability, chemical resistance, and mechanical strength. Unlike standard plastics such as PP or PVC, PPS retains its rigidity and shape even at continuous operating temperatures up to 220°C, with short-term tolerance to 260°C. Its chemical resistance approaches that of PTFE—no known solvent dissolves PPS below 200°C, and it offers outstanding resistance to inorganic acids, alkalis, and salts. The classic Pall ring geometry with open windows and inward-bent tongues ensures high voidage, low pressure drop, and uniform gas-liquid distribution. These properties make the PPS Pall Ring indispensable in high-temperature mass transfer processes such as acetic acid recovery, vacuum distillation, and aggressive gas scrubbing.

    Product Highlights

    • Exceptional High-Temperature Performance: Continuous operation at 220°C with short-term tolerance to 260°C, far exceeding PP (90°C), PPH (100°C), and even PVDF (150°C)—expanding the range of plastic packings into territory previously reserved for metals and ceramics.
    • Near-PTFE Chemical Resistance: Resistant to virtually all inorganic acids, bases, and salts, and stable against most organic solvents at temperatures below 200°C. Only strong oxidizing acids (concentrated nitric/sulfuric acid, aqua regia) should be avoided.
    • Superior Mechanical Rigidity & Creep Resistance: High crystallinity and inherent stiffness maintain dimensional stability under sustained load and thermal cycling, preventing deformation in deep packed beds.
    • Proven Pall Ring Geometry: Open windows and internal tongues deliver high mass transfer efficiency, large voidage, and low pressure drop—optimized for vacuum and high-temperature distillation.
    • Inherent Flame Resistance: PPS is self-extinguishing and rated UL 94 V-0, adding an extra layer of safety in high-temperature hydrocarbon and chemical processing.
    • Excellent Hydrolysis Resistance: Withstands steam and aqueous chemical environments at elevated temperatures, resisting degradation that would destroy standard polyamides or polyesters.
